The Emperor and Empress of Heaven were angry that their daughter had married a cowherd.

The Empress came to earth and found Zhinu.

" I'm taking you back to your duties! " she said and took Zhinu away.

玉皇大帝和王母娘娘很生氣他們的女兒嫁給一個牧牛人

王母娘娘來到凡間找到織女

她說：「我要帶妳回到妳的職責崗位！」並把織女帶走了

Niulang was heartbroken, but the ox told him, " Kill me and put on my skin. It will take you to heaven. "

The ox was actually a god who had been thrown out of heaven.

Crying, Niulang killed the ox and put on its skin.

He then covered the children in Zhinu's old fairy clothes, and they want to find her.

牛郎傷心極了，但是老牛告訴他：「殺了我、批上我的皮，它會帶你到天庭」

老牛其實是被逐出天庭的天神

牛郎哭了，殺了牛並批上牠的皮

接著他用織女的舊仙衣覆蓋孩子，他們出發去找織女了

Niulang was almost able to reach Zhinu, but the Empress saw him.

She caused a shining river to tear the sky in half.

This river separated Zhinu and the cowherd for good.

牛郎幾乎可以趕上織女了，但是王母娘娘看到他了

她變出一條閃亮的河把天空劃分成兩半

這條河把牛郎和織女永遠分隔了

The lovers wept their hearts out.

Suddently, thousands of magpies appeared and built a bridge across the river for the lovers.

The Empress finlly gave in.

She allows the couple to meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.

This date is now known as Chinese Lover's Day.

這對戀人痛哭失聲

突然間，出現數千隻的喜鵲，為這對情人建造一座跨越河流的橋
